Stone on. Turning the wheel creates a friction between the roughness of the wheel and an existing stone just below it which generates a spark. The trigger opens the valve that allows the gas output, which with the spark lights. The flame stays on while the trigger is tightened.

The flame can be bigger or smaller thanks to the regulator. Running towards the sign increases the gas output and towards the sign - it decreases. This allows to adapt the flame to different needs.
